Writer and researcher

Based in New York City

I was born in Kansas City, grew up in Kansas, and now live in Brooklyn. I work as a user assistance developer at Oracle, where I focus on application and data integrations. I create educational web content for developers who need to connect Oracle database products to other solutions. I transferred to that team from the Oracle Health product organization, where I worked as a technical writer documenting known issues, releases, and user workflows. I did a stint in Oracle Design, working on research and design teams to develop a highly-accessible and modern suite of healthcare information management apps. I joined Oracle through its acquisition of Cerner.

I have a Bachelor of Arts in English Language and Literature from the University of Missouri–Kansas City. I’ve invested a lot of my time in libraries. As an undergraduate, I worked on a research team that investigated rare books held at the Spencer Art Reference Library at the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art. Earlier in my career, I occasionally worked nights and weekends as a substitute library assistant at the Kansas City Public Library. I currently volunteer as an English language conversation coordinator at the Queens Public Library at Ridgewood. Queens is the most linguistically diverse place in the world, so working at the library gives me the opportunity to learn more about world languages and cultures.
